Privacy policy
Your data: where, how long, why
Last updated: 4 September 2026
Dopamine Tracker ("the app") is a screen time tracker and app blocker for Android. This policy explains which data the app processes, which of it stays on your phone, and how you can delete it.
1. Data that stays on your phone
The following is kept only in the app's database on your device and is never sent to our servers:
- Per-app usage time (which app you used for how long), read through Android's usage access permission.
- Your blocking rules: daily limits, closed days, the unbreakable setting, how many times you saw the block screen.
- Focus sessions, daily goal history and streaks.
- Your daily dopamine score and its history.
- Notification preferences, theme and language.
Uninstalling the app deletes this data from your device.
2. Data synced with your account
You can use the app without an account; an anonymous identity is created in that case. If you sign in with email or Google, the following is stored on our servers (Supabase infrastructure, European Union data centre) tied to your account:
- Account details: your email address, display name, sign-in method.
- Onboarding answers: why you use the app, your estimated daily usage, your goal.
- Subscription status: whether Pro is active and when it ends (via RevenueCat).
Usage time, blocking rules and focus sessions are not synced with your account.
3. Third-party services
- Supabase: authentication and account data storage.
- RevenueCat and Google Play Billing: purchasing and validating subscriptions. Payment details stay with Google Play; the app never sees card data.
- Google AdMob: the app includes the ads SDK, which may access the device advertising ID. You can reset the ID or opt out of personalisation in Android settings.
These services are governed by their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data to third parties for advertising.
4. Permissions
- Usage access: required to measure screen time.
- Display over other apps: to show the block screen when you open an app that has reached its limit.
- Notifications: weekly progress, evening reminders and in-the-moment nudges; each can be switched off separately in the app.
- Do Not Disturb access: requested only if you choose to silence notifications during focus sessions.
5. Retention and deletion
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and everything tied to it from Profile → Delete my account; deletion is immediate. On-device data is removed when you uninstall the app.
6. Children
The app is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
